MAKES CONTRIBUTION TO "FAMILIES HELPING FAMILIES" OF JEFFERSON

A RESOURCE CENTER FOR DISABLED CHILDREN

Metairie, Louisiana----(November 1, 2010) A strong desire to give back to the community was the impetus for "Hats & Heels," a luncheon hosted by Direct Source's principal owner Jennifer Laurent, and Michelle Silva, Marketing Manager.   The formal luncheon held at Le Petit Cafe, in Kenner raised $1380 for "Families Helping Families of Jefferson-a resource center for children and families with disabilities. 

Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Silva said, "Moving from the northeast was a bit of a culture shock."  Surprised by the southern hospitality, the desire to give back to the community and repay some of the generosity bestowed on Silva's family prompted the two woman into action.  "I felt that Michelle's idea for "Hats & Heels" had a positive impact on our community.  If Direct Source could align its company with such a wonderful deed, we were on board," said Jennifer Laurent.
